UNI - YEAR ONE - TERM TWO
I have just finished my first term of year 2 at uni. This terms project was an open brief, exploring how a photograph can be persuasive. I took the project up to study my own experiences of 'depression and anxiety'. I worked in the studio with my canon 5D mk II (lovely camera), using a wireless remote to take a series of self portraits. I have deliberately created a 'performance' piece of work to portray the idea of feeling trapped and entangled by multiple thoughts/worries that continually build up in my mind. The images are still a work in progress which i intend to expand on in the 2nd term.

MUSICAL COLOURS
Final uni project in term 3. It was an open brief, so i decided to look at the relationship between colour and music and how they can affect a person's emotions. The 2 instruments i used were a clarinet and a violin, studying their form and structure as a piece of architectural sculpture. To emphasize this i zoomed onto the instruments and used the lighting to create an almost silhouette effect.
BENEATH THIS MASK, ANOTHER MASK
The 2nd uni project i did in term 1 is about 'the portrait'. What is a true portrait?
I walked the streets of Nottingham equipped with my Pentax K1000 and snapped passers by.
I also photographed at 2 house parties to capture people unawares and looking at how people portray themselves in front of the lens.

CONSTRUCTING + MAPPING
A university project i did last year (2009) in my first term. The images were on a Pentax K1000.
The brief for this project was to examine how photography can interpret and represent time and space. Looking at the concept of 'documentary', alongside my images engagement with the physicality, the photographs ability to 'map' a location.

QUARRY EXPOSURE
Some long exposure shots i took in an abandoned quarry. This was my first real attempt at long exposure. Can't wait to do some more!
LOMO FISHEYE
Just a few images i have taken on my film fisheye camera. A couple multiple exposures too. Love using this camera and seeing my results at the end. A beautiful camera.
